Calgary Micro Wedding - Tori & Josh

Why Choose a Micro Wedding

An intimate wedding (micro wedding) is about stripping away all the noise and expectations that often surround big, traditional ceremonies. It’s about getting back to the core of what truly matters – your love, your connection, and the promise you’re making to each other. With fewer people to worry about, you can focus entirely on your own personal desires, creating an experience that feels authentic to who you are as a couple.

Choosing to have an intimate wedding allows you to infuse every moment with meaning, from the smallest details to the grander gestures. Instead of trying to accommodate everyone’s preferences, you’re free to craft a day that reflects your unique journey together. Whether it’s writing your vows in your own words, picking a venue that resonates with your shared memories, or curating the perfect playlist that tells the story of your love, every decision is made with you two at the center.

For me, telling these love stories is the driving force behind everything I do. It’s an opportunity to witness the deep bond two people share and to help them celebrate that connection in the most genuine, heartfelt way possible. There’s something incredibly special about being part of such a personal celebration. Intimate weddings often hold moments of raw emotion and beautiful simplicity, and capturing that is a privilege I never take for granted. It’s more than just documenting a day—it’s about preserving a deeply meaningful chapter of a couple’s life, a memory that will resonate for years to come.

Tori & Josh's Calgary Micro Wedding

This Calgary micro wedding kicked off my 2020 wedding season and what a wedding it was. This year has been filled with many twists and turns and this couple met all those changes with such grace. Tori & Josh were originally supposed to get married in the mountains. I knew there was some hesitation to change gears, but I know this wedding unfolded exactly as it should have. It was an incredibly beautiful day. I hope other couples see how gorgeous and intimate their day was and know that even if your plans change your day will still be amazing. I got to work with a fantastic team on this wedding. It was definitely one for the books.

There is something so special about intimate wedding days. It was held at the house that Tori grew up in which I felt was extra special. This was a house that already held many memories and now it was going to be the place that she would marry Josh. We took many photos on the property before we made our way to Big Hill Springs to bring some of that mountain feel into their wedding. There were so many beautiful parts of Tori & Josh's day. I feel there may be too many to list. I loved how many quiet moments these two had to soak in the day. The love letters they wrote to each other were so incredibly special to witness. You could tell how much love each other. Their reception was super intimate with only the wedding party, close family and friends.
